Joseph Prabhu, a Telugu Anglo-Indian, and his wife Ninette Prabhu raised Samantha in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She is the youngest of three children, with two elder brothers, Jonathan and David. Samantha has often spoken about the significant role her family played in her upbringing and the unwavering support they provided throughout her career in the entertainment industry.

While the cause of Joseph Prabhu’s death has not been publicly disclosed, the film fraternity and fans have extended their condolences. Actor Teja Sajja expressed his sympathies on social media, writing, “May you find peace in the memories you shared with your Father.
